Great little joint. Cool atmosphere and friendly service. Tacos were pretty good but the atmosphere played a large roll in that. Servers were very friendly. Enjoyed the street corn. Nothin mind blowing about the tacos and quite pricey but they were all good. Quite small and many fell apart as we tried to eat them but if you enjoy a non traditional spin on tacos you’ll enjoy these. Definitely a great place to stop for a drink or two and a snack around lunch time. You likely won’t be disappointed. I’d eat there again but not as my first choice if I’m looking for a solid meal. I’d go for lunch rather than dinner. Overall it was a positive experience.

It has a unique environment with a great, lively atmosphere that immediately stands out. The vibe is fun and relaxed, making it a perfect spot to enjoy good food and company. The Ahi Tuna Tataki was absolutely awesome—fresh & flavorful. It’s a must-try dish and easily the highlight of the meal.

The warm ambiance of this place drew us in. They offer a great variety of drinks and tacos, and everything we ordered was terrific! Our experience was elevated by the wonderful hospitality of the manager, Derek, and servers, Ally and Lauren. Upon entering the restaurant, Derek's personality was vibrant and welcoming. He had great suggestions, too. Try the duck barria! The "green" margarita is terrific, too. This is a great, cozy spot, right on King St.

We had such a great experience at bartaco! We tried a variety of tacos along with the chips and guac, and everything was delicious. The duck taco was the standout—absolutely incredible and a must-try. The service was just as impressive—attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. For King Street, the prices were surprisingly reasonable, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area!

Tried the Belly Pork Crispy Rice at Bartaco and it was so good! The pork belly is incredibly tender it literally melts in your mouth with a lightly sweet glaze that pairs perfectly with the crispy rice underneath. I also had their Mojito, super refreshing with bright lime and fresh mint. Light, clean, and such a good balance to the richness of the dish. Definitely a must-try combo if you’re visiting Bartaco!

A great spot with a huge variety of choices! I loved the tapas-sized portions, which let you try several different flavors in one sitting. The menu at bartaco has so many options, from unique tacos to fresh sides.

I have to rave about the bartender service from “Andres”! He absolutely made my night! What an incredible guy—always sporting a smile and ready to help. He recommended some fantastic drinks, and let me tell you, they were so fresh and delicious that I couldn’t resist going back for more than three! And the tacos? Simply out of this world! Everything was bursting with flavor. If you're looking for a great place to hang out, this is it! You definitely don’t want to miss it!

We visited this place during our trip to Charleston. It was our first time in the city, and coming from Ontario, Canada, choosing where to eat always feels like a bit of a gamble. Since my husband and I love Mexican cuisine, we decided to give it a try. Our first stop was Matador, which unfortunately was a total fail. We didn’t even finish our starter and decided to leave. Bartaco completely saved our date. We sat at the bar, and both the host and bartender were amazing, friendly, fun, and welcoming. Watching them make margaritas fresh was actually really enjoyable. We don’t drink alcohol, so we didn’t try them, but they definitely looked great The tacos are small, which makes it easy to try a few different ones. Everything tasted fresh and was nicely prepared. The only downside for us was that the food felt quite salty. Very salty food increases sodium levels, which makes your body pull water from cells and triggers thirst, and we definitely felt dehydrated for hours afterward. That said, the atmosphere was great and we genuinely had a good time. Would we come back? Probably not it’s more of a one time experience for us, but it was absolutely worth trying but next time we are visiting we’ll try something else. I’d definitely recommend it, especially if you enjoy drinks with your meal. For us, it lands at a solid 4 star experience.
